What I am going to share with you today is some copywriting secrets that I have learned over the years. They are 7 tips which you can apply to your copywriting and use in all forms of marketing.

Tip #1-Pick A Great Subject

  • You need to grab the readers attention, the best way to do that is to pick a great subject line. If you can grab their attention with your subject line, chances are you will have their attention for the rest of the content. Only if you are interesting enough though. Copywriting is about selling and who your selling to so you have to always keep the end user in mind. The more empathy you show the better off you will be!

Tip #2- Get Them To Like You

  • People do business with individuals who they trust and know. So you need to build a relationship with the reader any way you can. Pick something that you can relate to your “ideal” prospect and relate to them build a rapport with them even if it is tough the internet. Make sure you talk to one specific person!

Tip #3- Tell An Amazing Story

  • Storytelling is the mother of all copywriting. The most greatest copy in history has great stories, it’s the uniqueness of a story that keeps your reader hanging on to your every word that keeps them interested in what you have to say next. So Keep It Interesting.

Tip #4-Write Like You Talk

  • Keep Your Writing Conversational so people can relate to it right away. The feel of your writing should feel like your talking to someone casually telling them something and everyone is happy because the language is simple and everyone is understanding everything. So the Tone of your words is an issue as well, and this is difficult thing to do but you think about it this way, if a 6th grader can understand you then your good. Its like that denzel washington movie he said as the lawyer to the defendant who was on the stand “ok now explain it to me as if i were in the 6th grade”

Tip #5- Prove Your Point

  • Show proof! Its very easy to say something but if you can back it up then that is worth its weight in GOLD. Its one of the best way’s to sell online because you are showing evidence that your putting your money where your mouth is! People are very skeptical and its because of that you need to show what your worth, Bring testimonials, facts, and credentials to show you got the skills to back yourself up!

Tip #6- Pull People Emotions

  • People are emotional and if you can get them where it counts you can get their wallets out! Copywriting if done correctly is basically a transfer of emotion (remember what i was saying about empathy earlier). Try and get your reader as excited as your can about your topic as you are. If this happens, Magic Happens.

Tip #7- Push the Pain (OUCH!)

  • The fear of loss is a stinger motivator then the desire for gain. Meaning if you can push the pain of the prospect you can have them where it hurts and have them beginning to get your product because the pain that they are having without your product is just to unbearable. The best way to do this is to paint a picture in your readers mind about what they will loose if they don’t act right now, and what they will gain if they do!

Few Other Tips

  • Use Contractions
  • Use Abbreviations
  • Use short sentences
  • Use Subheads
  • Use Short Paragraphs
  • Use “quotes”
  • Use Bold & Italics
  • Use bullet points (hmmmmmmm)
  • Use numbers (1,2,3,4)
  • Use lists

Make your writing as easy as possible (remember 6th grader rule). You don’t need to trick your readers, just be honest and simple.
